UK : 25 #1 for the 7th week, 19 #37 (+22), 21 #24 (+9)
There’s no stopping everyone’s favourite chart record-breaker this week, as Adele’s 25 scores a seventh consecutive week at Number 1.
Despite a serious challenge this week from Elvis Presley – who would’ve celebrated his 81st birthday today – Adele finished out in front of the King by almost 3,300 chart sales.
Since going straight in at the top of the Official Albums Chart in November, 2015, the Londoner’s third LP hit 2 million sales in record time and was the top selling entertainment title of 2015.
Birthday boy Elvis has to settle for Number 2 today, then, with If I Can Dream, which spends its 10th consecutive week in the Top 3.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber’s Purpose holds firm at 3, Jess Glynne’s I Cry When I Laugh stays at 4 and James Bay’s Chaos And The Calm rises five places to return to the Top 5.

Denying Elvis Presley a posthumous return to No.1 on what would have been his 81st birthday, Adele racks up her seventh straight week atop the album chart with 25 - though its sales of just 43,446 copies are a far cry from the 800,307 copies it sold on the week of its debut, and represent the lowest winning total for a No.1 album since 5 Seconds Of Summer's Sound Good, Feels Good topped the chart 10 weeks ago.
Now the third biggest selling album of the 2010s and the 21st biggest seller of the 21st century, 25 topped 2.5m sales a week ago, and has now sold 2,539,346 copies.
It faces another battle for chart supremacy next week from someone else who celebrated their birthday on January 8 - David Bowie, whose Blackstar was released as he turned 69, and has been the subject of some very positive reviews.
