We're hoping Leona Lewis will approve of us adding her name to this list. The "Collide" singer has recently made it quite clear that she believes certain female singers portray a bad image when it comes to being sexy. Speaking to "Stylist" magazine last month, Lewis revealed: "I don't really like to see people dancing around a pole or gyrating on a guy every time I go to a concert." Why she's sexy: In her own words, Lewis says: "There's a way to be sexy that's not too in your face". . . and we have to agree. Lewis always keeps herself looking classy, rather than trashy, all the while leaving some things to the imagination.

Of course, we could name anyone from The Runaways here, but Joan Jett is probably the most notable member. After the band split in 1979, Jett went on to form Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and released a hit version of "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." Why she's sexy: No one's embodied rock's spirit of rebellion and sexiness like Joan Jett. The fact that she's now 53 years old is irrelevant since she hasn't aged in the past 25 years. In fact, Jett is so sizzling that even Carmen Electra had a crush on her, leading to rumours of a romance between the two.

Since her adult "reinvention" Miley Cyrus may be topping sexy lists, but we will bypass her in favour of Taylor Swift. Swift is absolutely gorgeous and able to sing, write, act, and play the strings off a guitar. In fact, she's such a quadruple threat that, while Rihanna was honoured with Sexiest Woman Alive, "Billboard" crowned Swift as their Woman of the Year for the upcoming 2011 Billboard Women In Music event. Why she's sexy: Taylor Swift exudes talent and has the best eyes, hair and lips in the industry. Musically, you may never admit to rocking along with "Love Story," but there's no denying that Swift and her cowboy boots are guilty little pleasures.

Although she has ample "goods," CoverGirl model Queen Latifah doesn't believe they should be flaunted. Speaking to "S2S" magazine in August, Latifah made it clear: "I just like ladies who have class. . . A confident woman is a sexy woman, in my opinion. And I think guys find that to be the same way." Why she's sexy: As a real full-figured woman, Latifah is confident, all the while working her sexy curves to her advantage. As the front woman of Blondie, from the late '70s and onwards, Debbie Harry papered the bedroom walls of many teenage boys. There's no denying that her looks were an integral part of her fame as, not only was she an ethereal beauty, but also an ex-"Playboy" bunny. Speaking about her career to "Parade" last month, Harry admitted that "being sexy and hot never hurts!" (Tell that to her broken hearted fans of the time). Why she's sexy: If gentlemen really do prefer blondes, then surely Blondie is their ultimate fantasy.

She can easily be dubbed one of Canada's sexiest singers, but we think Shania Twain deserves an even bigger accolade. Born in Windsor, Ontario, Twain is a five-time Grammy winner, and a true country girl who can hunt a moose when needed. She's just as sexy walking a red carpet as she is chopping firewood. Why she's sexy: Shania Twain is a true natural beauty, and even science agrees. In a 2009 study, a group of University of Toronto researchers found that Shania's features are proportionally ideal. That's right, she's been scientifically branded "perfect."

You may be familiar with Alison Mosshart from indie rock band The Kills or from supergroup The Dead Weather. As well as being lead vocalist for both bands, Mosshart is also a songwriter, occasional model and kick-ass rock goddess. With her relaxed wardrobe and "just rolled outta bed" hair, Mosshart's effortless look earned her the title of Hottest Woman at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011. Why she's sexy: Seriously, any girl who can draw attention away from Jack White on stage deserves some recognition. That said, Mosshart doesn't really give a damn about looking sexy, which makes her menacingly hot.

With a whopping 14 Grammy awards to her name, Alicia Keys is one sultry looking piano prodigy. Whether she's tinkling on her ivories, or belting out a New York anthem, this first lady of R&B is one talented female. As Sean "Diddy" Combs explained about Keys' allure: "She's confident, strong and sexy. You know she's a woman in control." Why she's sexy: Not only does Keys have beauty, but she also has brains. She graduated high school in only three years at the age of 16 and served as valedictorian. She eventually gave up a scholarship to Columbia University in order to pursue her music career. Lucky us.

She's slowly regaining her sex appeal but we still want to reminisce about Britney Spears' golden years i.e. pre-head shaving. Spears first burst onto the music scene with a good girl image and wearing THAT school uniform. Of course, this image didn't last too long, as she soon adopted much raunchier moves and outfits. Spears' has a considerable catalogue of super sexy music videos, with some of the hottest being "I'm A Slave 4 U," "Toxic" and Joan Jett's trademark "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." Why she's sexy: Shaking and grinding her way around the globe, Spears has done it all -- from snogging Madonna, to dancing half-naked with a snake.

Kylie Minogue is a pint-sized pop princess and frequently named as one of the sexiest women in the world. Why? Well, at 5' 1", she's perfectly proportioned and has an impressively pert rear. Her music video for "Spinning Around" had gold spandex hot pants flying off shelves but, although she's got great "support," she still maintains class. Why she's sexy: Her derriaire is insured for around $5 million and she's still cute at age 43, but in Kylie's case brains can sometimes top beauty.
