Sugababes have unveiled their newest member, one day after founding singer Mutya Buena announced her departure from the group.
Twenty-one-year-old Amelle Berrabah, from Hampshire, was chosen by the Sugababes' management team.
"For years I've dreamt of breaking into the music business but never did I dream of waking up one day to be the third Sugababe," she said.
Singers Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range have given their full support to their new bandmate.
"Our management introduced us to Amelle as someone they knew with an amazing voice, who looked great and, just as important, was already a big fan of the band," said Range.
"When we all met her, we instantly knew she was the only person to share the rest of the journey with us."
Sugababes formed seven years ago and have now gone through three line-up changes. Buchanan is the only founding member left in the group.
Beuna announced her decision to leave the band in a statement posted on the band's website yesterday.
She said she had personal reasons for leaving the group but would remain friends with both Range and Buchanan.
"It was a very difficult but definitely not a snap decision," she said.
