Does the Friends cast hate being reminded of the show?
It was hard watching this. Look how uncomfortable they all are, especially Jen.
I know the whole cast isn't in this, but all of them are reminded of Friends in almost every interview and thing that they do.
Do you think they're sick of it?
I can't believe people still think that someone who's been a star for almost 25 years would allow themselves to look that put out on television and mean it.
I'm sure they're all grateful to the show for the financial security it afforded them and for the chance to be part of something so beloved and massive on the TV landscape. At least I'd hope they feel that way. But it can probably be annoying when you get typecast or you do things in a new direction that you're really proud of and all people want to hear from you is "how you doin" or "we were on a break" or a few bars of Smelly Cat.
I was thinking about this the other day cause Jen has been doing promo for her new movie and in like 60% of the interviews she's being asked again and again about a reunion.
I am a huge, huge, huge friends fan, and it's always made me really happy/excited to see them be asked about friends in some form in modern interviews... until recently. In the last year or so I've realised how annoying and tiresome it must be, specifically when they're (Jen in this case) trying to move on and do other things, only to be constantly reminded of their work on friends.
It's almost as if interviewers are reminding them of the fact they'll only ever really be remembered for friends, they'll likely NEVER work on anything that comes as close as being iconic as that film.
However..... On the other hand, friends literally changed each of their lives, to a massive, massive scale. So I'd like to think they don't actually care at all, and are happy and proud and overall still to this day thankful and humbled to know and acknowledge not only were they apart of one of the biggest television shows of all time, but that it is still remembered and loved so fondly by generations of people.
So yeah, I think yes & no. And like everyone has said, regarding the video in the OP, that was all scripted anyway, so it was intentionally awkward and stuff.
