Discussion: Should we respect religion?

I respect religion, but only because I accept the time I live in. I think it will die out for the most part, besides Islam.

Not really, a lot of it doesn't make sense and it's caused so many problems.

I mean people are allowed to believe in whatever they want but people who think their religion can't be criticised are a kii. There's a lot to criticise in religion.

Like you said in the OP, I would like to think it will die out eventually but I don't think it ever will. It'll just change form, Christianity is on the decline though but sadly Islam is on the rise.

Even if you're not religious, you don't need to laugh and mock people who are. Something which is done even on here and other places. Not referring to you OP, just saying.

I can see why people would say no because of Islam, certain laws in countries to do with religion etc.

I actually agree with this 100%. Mocking is a huge reason for the world's problems. I'm grateful there's a place like ATRL where we can have such a discussion.

Yes. I respect every religion. Each one of us has the right to choose how they want to live. And as you guys respect feminism, LGBT matters, racial stuff, political point of views, you gotta respect religious views too.

If you respect those things that's exactly why you probably shouldn't respect religion because the core teachings of the major world religions go directly against them.

Only if religion is practiced behind closed doors and is strictly personal. No law/government/institution should be allowed to be influenced by religion, no religion in politics, business, education, etc. Keep it to yourself. Also, it should be 18+, it can't be forced on you, you have to make the choice once you're an adult.
