And she'll continue to struggle until Interscope pulls the plug on this "experiment" they're using her for. Like other Asian acts including PSY, she doesn't appeal to Americans and is mostly ignored unless there's some opportunity to undermine or laugh at her (like this thread). Otherwise there's just resistance like the Miss America incident the interviewer mentioned. If an American of Indian origin can't be "America's sweetheart," how the hell is an Indian national going to be?
It also doesn't help that her material is terrible; the clip of her new single they played in the interview sounds so bad. "We can't let go, we can't let go"? What was
that?
She's getting cheap scraps from producers, but from a business standpoint, I don't blame them. Not many are going to take a risk and give their good material to a person who has a 97% chance of flopping; it would be a waste. Priyanka's only good song is "Erase" by the Chainsmokers and that's probably because it was produced by two obscure DJs who had nothing to lose by giving the song to her.

Actually, she's a good actress and she was recruited by Interscope to do this. She's not a good singer, but strong vocal ability isn't required to be a pop star.
