Oh Miss Britney Jean,
How we loved you gyrating with a snake, kissing Madonna and giving us three back-to-back-to-back party, feel good CDs. We loved your steamy "Breathe On Me" performance at the Onyx Hotel. Blackout is truly a pop gem.
We laughed, we popped our crotches, we took out our freak and went all the way-ay-ay.
However, something doesn't feel right anymore.
In less than 4 months, you're going to be 30-years old.
It's time for change Miss Spears-Alexander-Ferderline.
It's time to solidify your legacy. It's time for people to take you seriously.
RIP Britney the Pop Star
And it's time to create Britney: The Artist.
Songs like (Drop Dead) Beautiful and If U Seek Amy are fun. But really?
While artists like Beyonce and Lady GaGa are pouring their heart, soul and experiences...creating music that is both artistically and critically pleasing -- but also fan supportive.....Britney still remains the same woman that released party songs in 2007.
With a stanbase like the Britney stans, shouldn't that make you more ABLE and WILLING to take risks instead of releasing safe radio songs?
Just as Britney picked up her stuff and left the Bubblegum Pop era behind for a more mature and urban sound......and just as THAT Britney left the urban sound for a more electro feel. It's time for Britney to get back up and move on once more.
Songs like Hold It Against Me are amazing...but it's time to stop being in the same vein as Katy Perry and Ke$ha ...and stop turning away people like William Orbit and Alex da Kid.
It's time for you to become a legitimate artist that writes and produces songs from the SOUL. Like how you started to do with In the Zone until life got in the way.
It's time to experiment and play...it's time to grow into a woman and not an 18 year old who just learned the magic of ****.
You have nothing to lose or prove...and if Beyonce is any example, she shows that with hard work and just finding yourself -- your fans and the public will still love you.
So what do you think?
Is it time for Britney to stop being a pop-star and make "real music"? Or should Britney stick with what sells/works?
What direction would you choose for her 8th CD?
