Although I can agree that she shouldn't be selling herself like she is, I think Miley knows that she would never be anywhere near as successful if she was just a sweet little country girl playing her guitar and singing her cute little heartbreak songs.
Most people are going to forever think she is talent-less just because of Disney, no matter how hard she tries to prove otherwise.
Although she probably already has enough money to live the rest of her life comfortably, she wants success, and she's getting it through controversy since she has nothing else to go on.
Affecting and interesting read. Sinéad has been through the wringer so her input is actually pretty valuable. Miley's antics don't necessarily bother me, but if she is in fact being taken advantage of in some way then I hope this letter will find her and give her some food for thought.
I understand her point and I agree, but the **** shaming was really not necessary, especially because she fired her previous manager because he didn't want her to be as provocative as she is now. You can't blame everything on the people that handle her.
Its cute and all, but the point people keep missing is that Miley wants this. Miley wants the negative press. She's not doing this to be considered "sexy" or whatever.
She obviously doesn't want to be considered a class act or be respected by the older generation / critics, she wants to be talked about. And ****, she's done it way better than anyone could have imagined.

But all of this will have a price, and that's what Sinead is telling her in this letter
I guess the difference here would be Madonna made herself with that particular image in mind. Everything about Miley right now seems forced and commercialized to the nth.
Madonna probably tosses some cringe now with her age, but that WAS her.
She's right. The industry doesn't care about Miley, and while it's cool to like what's she doing, she will only be tabloid fodder to them when/if she falls off the wagon. But like I've been saying, it's a phase for her. She's going to shun this whole fad and probably won't even acknowledge it in future interviews.
I hope Miley can handle it when she becomes yesterdays news. The industry will use her until she is dry and then throw her to the lions ala Amanda Bynes style.
