To be honest yes, Leona Lewis, Jessica Sanchez, Demi Lovato, Nicole Scherzinger, etc. can easily pull it off and fit in their discography/image. It's still a good song though.

This is a subjective question
Yes it follows the usual formula of a ballad.."Nothing special" can mean anything of the listeners' perception though
