It's a nice song even though it's a bit depressing.
I think AC/Hot AC will play it. I dont think it will go anywhere on Pop.
She didn't have a radio deal in Canada and it was barely played on Top 40 stations the first day. It just does not fit in with Top 40 radio at all it would be completely out of place.
Once the rolling effect jumps it might fall right out of the Top 40.
Everyone please stop under-rating this song. You did it with its digital release too. Y'all just can't handle Adele's reign. Accept that she will slay all formats, go to #1 and stay there for weeks. If you accept it now, it will be easier at the time!

Her airplay gains are underwhelming as of right now though.
I guess I'd pretty much go with everyone else on "fine but not amazing". Probably a bit smaller than 'Rumour Has It'.
Some Nights (also not 100% pop) got the same treatment at the beginning and look how well it is doing. The effect the release of the movie will have on sales will be very telling. If Skyfall stays top 10 for a whole month, radios will have no choice but to play it...I don't think they ever denied a song that did very well digitally and had longevity.

But what happens when the buzz of the movie fades? I don't see this having impact after the movie, except on Hot AC, AC and Triple A.

That's the key thing here. If the effect of the movie gets the song enough attention for it to start selling on its own after that (which is possible)...then I believe pop radio will play it. We will have to wait and see.
At the end of the day, the song is amazing regardless.
