“I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. So, I tried to be as open and honest and neutral as possible, but that’s the way interviews go. Sometimes when you do interviews, it gets twisted up, I can understand when I read it back why people were offended, and for that I deeply apologize. I wasn’t trying to offend anyone. I was just trying to honestly answer a question that caught me off guard. It was supposed to be an interview about singing, and it became political and I’m not a political person at all.” - La'Porsha Renae
what she said is her prerogative.
sure I am against what she said but that does not mean I have to bombard ppl that are not harmful or hateful towards us gays with my beliefs.
i'd much rather she reads up on homosexuality some more and starts accepting us then to just blindly apologies just to appease the online bullies.
Don't see THAT big of an issue with what she said. I mean i see why some of you are getting offended, but it's not like she's bashing gays or anything close to that.
I don't take issue with her comments whatsoever. There are people I know personally who take the exact same position as her on this and -- like her -- embrace gay people as warmly as anyone else.
My stance on this is very apologetic, I suppose, but whatever.
Not y'all praising someone who doesn't like/agree with you as a person.
It's always the ones that also say "I don't believe in homosexuality, but I have no problem with gays" that secretly cringe about you, think evil things, and get disgusted on the inside when you say anything gay. I'm sorry, but you cannot honestly be completely cool with someone being gay if you "don't agree with it" to begin with.
A lot of people who also say that are indeed homophobic, but don't want to come off as so, which is when they try to pull "oh I don't agree, but I don't dislike them!".
