Who will have twenty+ year careers? And who already had one?
Thinking back to the sixties and seventies there were selected few that survived and had hits twenty years later. Some includes Beach Boys, Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Micheal Jackson, Gladys Knight, Four Tops, Patti Labelle, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Dionne Warick, Al Green...etc. So I want to not only compile a list of who already did it, but I want to no who you guys think will do it now.
So here's the format you can only become alumni if you have a top 40 hit twenty years after your first top 40 hit. Also Frash Meat is obviously artist who's been here less than five years but may make it and have longevity in the long run.

Well, of the people who are still making music, there are of course the three divas--Madonna, Mariah, Janet. Then there are the bands, such as U2 and R.E.M. There are very few rappers with 20+ year careers who are still going strong; the only one I can think of still making albums is LL Cool J, but he's a huge flop now.
I think Jennifer Hudson, Brandy, Britney and hopefully Lady GaGa will be making music 10-20 years from now as far as females go. I don't think Kanye will keep it going for much longer--he has too much pride and won't want to be seen as an old guy trying to act young.
Also, who could forget the Eagles, or Metallica?

Hard to say, I would think it's safe to say people like Britney, Christina, Justin, Beyonce, etc. who have already been around for 10+ years will have hits for awhile.
I think people will remember the acts you mentioned more than they will ever remember the ones I mentioned though. By that I mean in 20 years, the "oldies" station will be playing hits of the 60s and 70s still, not the 90s and 00s.
People like Alanis Morrisette, TLC, Shania Twain, Nirvana, etc. may not actually have legit hits for 20 years (well Nirvana and probably TLC obviously can't), but I think their huge music of the 90s will always be remembered, if that makes sense.
This is actually a harder question than I thought...

I know what you mean. They made a huge impact and their albums will go down as classics.

And Nas has? She's still epic regardless of the "hits" she's had.
Just like Nas.

Nas has had many US hits, did Bjork make a impact in the states and is any of the songs memorable because that's gonna decide where she gets placed.

Name Nas's "hits". Bjork doesn't necessarily need hits because her individuality and innovation has kept her afloat this long.
