Which diva could be considered a new music legend?
all these divas have at least a decade of career, built brand solid names, became iconic, won many awards, produced several hit singles and albums, toured around the world for years, and influenced on a whole new generations of divas.
We can't lie and we can't be blind, the generations have changed, and now everything is about new girls like: Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga or Adele, etc.
So this is the moment where "Beyonce", "Britney Spears", "Christina Aguilera", "Pink", "Shakira", "Jennifer Lopez" or "Alicia Keys" become LEGENDS or become HASBEENS?
In other words this is the moment where they become Madonna's and Whitney's ..... or the moment where they become Cyndi Lauper's and Paula Abdul's.
So.. Which out of these divas could be considered a new music legend?
Beyonce
Britney Spears
Christina Aguilera
Pink
Shakira
Jennifer Lopez
Alicia Keys

This is a MULTIPLE SELECTION poll , you can vote for more than 1 diva.
Beyonce and Britney have no doubt made the transition, it's undeniable!
I feel like Pink, Alicia, and Shakira are there but not in the same way because they feel behind as the years went on in mainstream popularity. It'll take more time and success from them before people see them as real deal long lasting legends.
J.Lo seems to have ruined what she had going when she took that long break and came back as an Idol judge. She she wont be remembered for her music, more her movies or American Idol.

Wise and epic words .... and what about Xtina ? you didn't say anything about her
P!nk. Of all the late 90's/early 2000's girls (Bey, Brit, Avril, Xtina ect ect) she's the one with the most recent huge success and she's shown the most consistency (apart from Try This but nearly every pop singer has at least 1 album that under-performs)
Even though Bey has underperformed recently I think her impact is enough for her to be considered.
Beyonce and Christina are the closest to ones in our generation. Their level of respect + commercial success is undeniable. I know people here dislike Christina, but her level of respect is very high amongst legends (which is probably why she is so overrated to some).
There are a couple on that list that has had the impact, but the level of respect is minimal. That's why they will remain iconic but won't ever become legendary.
It's funny you can say Beyonce and yet, not use Alicia Keys when the latter has a more distinguishable, and exemplary discography than anyone in her current generation. But it depends on what "legend" she is, since she is obviously not Pop or RnB

I feel like Britney's days are gone. We're going through Rihanna, Katy & Bey right now. But P!nk is gonna be the longest-career one and she'll have more (she already has a lot) impact on "oldest" people.
