No. Rihanna's career is like a shark that has to keep on swimming or it dies. Her "audience" is comprised of more casual listeners than hardcore devoted fans, and those casual listeners will easily move on from her if she stays out of sight for too long.

Of course she can. A two, three year break would be good, I guess. Not sure about a 4 year break tho. Anyhow, she won't be forgotten that easy.

Barely anybody in pop survives a 3-year hiatus (just look at Beyoncé and GaGa).

4 years is a lot. One year though will be good for her.

Yes, easily. Everyone knows who she is and knows she always has a song out, but if she went away she would create so much hype and people would wonder what happened to her. If she came back and had sufficient promo and an amazing lead single she would come back better than ever and have another Umbrella.
