The Wanted: "1D are just faces, we're actually a music band"

‘I’m not sure how well they’re actually doing yet,’ said George, scoffing at 1D’s hype. ‘They’re more faces, if you know what I mean ‘I don’t think people really look at us over there as the same kind of band because I think people look at them more like a Jonas Brothers sort of band that are very TV and children’s magazine based. They make magazines instead of actually hearing them on the radio.’
Far happier to be heard on the US airwaves than being stuck on teenagers’ walls, George told me: ‘I think our audience over there is sort of 18 to 25 or 30. We have a lot of radio play but I think we’re more of a music band.’
‘We don’t talk,’ he said. ‘The X Factor family stick together. They’re very close, you know, all the X Factor contestants, and they kind of stay in that one circle normally.’

I have no idea if what he's saying is true, all I know is I love GYC when I hear it on the radio + he looks good there. That's reason enough to support his claim.
Bob i challenge you to listen to both albums and I already know you'd like 1D better, they have more pleasant voices, they ARE more pleasant personalities and dont resort to petty attacks on other bands The Wanted gon' flop after GYC they have no other mmusic of that standard.
The thing is they're a boyband too, they do magazines too, they're just a face (1D is a face too but at least 2/5 of 1D can sing high notes) I've listened Battleground and it's an album full of fillers, just two cute songs, and they can't sing high notes

Preach it. They don't try to find some "exposure" by trashing a fellow UK act and boyband.
