She has become a niche artist at this point appealing to her (admittedly big) fanbase so she needs something GREAT for the public to regain interest. She will flop by her standards, aka a Femme Fatale-esque performance, if the singles aren't good (aka Born This Way quality).
How was Born This Way's success "less than stellar" when it was one of the highest selling albums of the year, produced one of the biggest hits of the year and spawned a tour that grossed $180M even as it had to be canceled due to injury?

Gaga hasn't tweeted in ages and she has like weeks of no tweets between each one since February yet she still gains followers and without releasing anything yet. By the time ARTPOP is out she will have gained her twitter throne again against Bieber and all of you will deal with it

Just because Katy has like 100k more followers doesn't disprove the fact that Gaga has a huge social media presence. Gaga still has about 3 million more likes on Facebook anyways
