Simple question. What is more important to you? Succes or music? Cause I see lately some stans in here only bragging about the succes, leaving the music aside.
Good Question. People even leave their faves because they flopped.
I have loved gaga from 2008 and I still love her because of her Music.
And I will never leave her side even if she has the occasional "Flop"
So I stan for the music

I mean, a song by your fave that's having a lot of success makes you stan for it even more (for example, Roar and Till the World Ends).
I was blown away by BEYONCÉ and had it as my favorite Bey album way before the 600K prediction came out. So music straight away. Success is an added bonus, especially if you frequently use ATRL
Not to mention I became a Beyoncé stan after I watched Glastonbury live on tv, aka at the beginning of her "flop" era and haven't left since
Like others said, success does help.
Like of cource your gonna want your fave to be talked about and always on the radio
so you can always hear it and other stuff. But music is always more important than sucess
