I've always kind of liked the skeuomorphic designs though
Sometimes it was a little too over-the-top (Game Center and Notes, mostly) but it just won't seem as Apple-y without the textures and gradients. I hope those mockups aren't very close to the real thing, because that's way too Windows 8 for me.
Still excited to see what's happening though! Except I wish they would get the iPhone back on the original summer refresh schedule... it's more exciting to see the new phone + OS update together at WWDC.
Round buttons scream "calculator" to me.
That'd be really inconvenient at times when you wanna shut your phone off quickly.
