No, if you've actually analysed her songs a lot of the lyrics are really vacuous and devoid of any real meaning. As quoted from Daria her shallowness is so thorough, it's almost like depth.

The instrumentals, tempo and nonsensical lyrics overshadow these themes and this is why she is seen by many as a deep artist.

The only song that comes close to having depth is Carmen.

Compared to many pop tarts her lyrics are deep imo. Which is not to say they are that deep of course, just in comparison to some others of the moment. No talk about plastic bags and the like in Lana songs.

I need a definite definition of "deep."

I mean she isn't a Kate Bush or what have you but there's certainly more meaning in her music than what's huge on American radios right now.

I don't think so. I'm a fan but her songs are easily digestible on the first listen and most of her lyrics are middle school/high school metaphors.

She's deep enough. Her most basic songs already have more meaning than most Top 10 hits.

"I'm your national anthem, boy your so handsome, give me a standing ovati-oh-oh-on.", "Now my life life is sweet like cinnamon, pick me up and take me like a vitamin". No. I love her album but the 1st thing I noticed is how lame,childish and uninspired her lyrics are. It always sounds like shes singing random sentences and words just so they rhyme and fit the melody.

If your definition of depth is "has meaning beyond surface level," Lana is objectively a deep artist.
