No way in hell is this the setlist!
I know for a fact this isn't the Rock With U tour setlist because it just looks plain weird! As a Janet fan, and a fan of her tours (which I know inside-out), looking at this, it's just not possible. What initially caught my eye when I first saw this was Rhythm Nation at #25 and Black Cat at #30 - no, absolutely not. No no no no no, lol. For her last three tours, it has always been Black Cat, then Rhythm Nation (in that order), so there is no way she would do it the other way around (with 3 songs and a MEDLEY in between the two at that!)
Now with every tour Janet has done, she has always started out the show with a song from the current album she's touring (which only makes sense), so for the first song performed to be Escapade, then the second one to be Call On Me...two songs from two totally different eras (and decades), it just doesn't fit well at all. What she should do is start off with Rollercoaster and 2nite, that would be more suiting (and a hot way to start off the show in the first place.)
Another thing Janet is well known for in her performances is her medleys, mainly the Control/Nasty medley and the Escapade medley. If she is to perform her old Control and Rhythm Nation hits, I would think she would do so by grouping them all together into one set, as she usually does (with the exception of Rhythm Nation, since that's usually one of her Encore performances, as well as Let's Wait A While/Come Back To Me, which are ballads that wouldn‘t fit with the more up-tempo songs, and not to mention that she always performs these two songs together.)
But for "What Have You Done For Me Lately" to be at #7, then “Control/When I Think Of You/Pleasure Principal” at #11, then “Nasty” at #17...it doesn't make any sense. If she does these songs, she’s gonna do them medley-style, like always. And how Nasty could be the first song performed with Throb and Miss U Much in a 'medley' is almost lol'able, especially being that Throb was an airplay-only single to begin with. It’s not on the same level as her more popular singles, and not to mention it’s really, really old (15 years old, to be exact.) It wasn't performed on the All For You Tour, so it more than likely won't be performed on this one either.
Young Love/Don't Stand Another Chance - I don't see this happening. Although it would be really nice to hear Janet perform a couple hits from her pre-Control days, but it's a bit unrealistic as she's never done these on any of her other tours. But it would be nice...
I Want You/If/I Get Lonely - there’s so many things wrong with this picture. Three totally different sounding, totally different tempo songs (one ballad, one high energy up-tempo, and one slow mid-tempo) performed in a medley doesn't make much sense what so ever, and Janet would never put three songs from three different albums and eras together in a medley (in this particular case ‘Damita Jo - 2004’/‘Janet. - 1993’/‘The Velvet Rope - 1998’), there's just no way. This pretty much rules out the Nasty (Control - 1986)/Throb (Janet. - 1993)/Miss U Much (Rhytm Nation - 1990) medley as well. And what's up with all these medleys anyway?! 4 medleys? Not on a Janet tour, that’s for sure. It’s too much. Interesting concept, sure. But no.
And how in the world did these three songs, along with ‘Black Cat’, ‘Just A Little While’ (LOL), and ‘Go Deep’ end up making the cut after ROCK WITH U!!! This is the "Rock With U" tour after all, so I would think that this song would either be at the beginning of the show (to kick it off), or at the end of the show (as an encore performance.) So that's also messed up. So songs will not be performed after Rock With U. Before, sure, but certainly not after. I mean, Just A Little While and Go Deep right before the encore? Come on now…
Now as far as the encore goes - I think the last three songs of the show should be Luv, then Feedback, then Rock With U. Or Luv, the Rock With U, then Feedback. With every tour Janet has done, the encore always been performed with songs from the album she’s touring (usually her biggest hits off that particular album), thus it would only be appropriate that the Rock With U encore be performed with the biggest hits off Discipline. Love Will Never Do is actually not that bad as an encore song itself, but I don't see it happening for this tour. Together Again was the last song performed on her last 2 tours, so I don't think Janet's gonna go that route a third time.
Bottom line, this isn’t the real setlist folks so don’t count on it. The real setlist will be a lot better, anyway. As far as Janet sounding a hot mess live, that’s not true at all. Her voice is more breathy than it usually is, sure, but she does not sound a hot mess! I can’t wait for the tour, omg!! Rock With U Tour 08/09!
