Is her record label the reason she isn't getting a #1 album? not enough promo? It was release on Black Friday(mind you it's actually one of the busiest shopping days of the year)So what went wrong?
They're rushing eras too fast, they're making Rihanna do too much in too little time, and they know they'll get their moneys worth in longevity instead of big debuts. It's not even the underwhelming debut that bothers me anymore, it's the label's ****** and unfair way of managing Rihanna.
She moves on from albums too quickly. No one is willing to invest buying her music when they know there will be a new album being chucked at them in another ten months. Everything moves too fast with her. GGGB is her longest era and that lasted under two years. Then she was moving on to her next album. From that point onward it's just been an assault with her releasing music every year with no breathing room. It's wearing people out and they are turning off of her. TTT won't do as well as Loud did, it wouldn't surprise me to see some backlash towards her with this album. 2009, 2010 and now 2011 with no break? Yeah it's not going to be pretty.
I'm pretty sure they know she isn't really an album pusher, they should have her release when it's not that much competition.. Idk why they ALWAYS have her release during Black Friday/Holiday Season and it never really makes a difference with her sales.

Rihanna doesn't have a fanbase because she's nothing more than her latest hit single. When the hits stop, she'll be completely over. There's just nothing more to her; she's a forgettable popstar who occupies our radios with catchy songs.
Well I'm not a Rihanna fan, but I know they've made questionable choices with some of my favorite artists (Mariah and Hikaru Utada) so I wouldn't be surprised.
Rih's era's are too short. She was soo successful with GGGB b/c she re-released it. She was doing soo well with loud, Should have done the same with loud. That would give her more time for promotion and for herself...
No, they're not. And I CAN'T with anyone who says they are. The "problem" is Ms. Fenty more so than the label it self. Def Jam had Janet ****ing Jackson on their roaster and they did little for her and the same applies for Mariah's last album. Rihanna is more marketable than them because she's younger so she appeals to us more, plus her music is more commercial and radio friendly.
They put a lot of money into her sound & carefully crafted image, she has a great team behind her. So nope, they're not the problem.
I don't think the problem is necessarily Rihanna, I think the problem is just that she releases music too frequently and there is no momentum or anticipation for her music. Thus people have less of an incentive to want to pick up the album first week out.
