Is Katy a better writer than Gaga?
Katy has more solo writing credits and she's known for her killer hooks and emotional songs (I'm Still Breathing, Thinking of You, Pearl, BTGOG).
Ever since Gaga stopped working with RedOne, the quality of her lyrics has gone down.
She even came out with a song that has the lyrics "Rocket number 9 take off to the planet (to the planet) / Venus / Aphrodite lady seashell bikini (garden panty) / Venus / Let’s blast off to a new dimension (in your bedroom) / Venus / Aphrodite lady seashell bikini (get with me) / Venus."
Even in her peak, her choruses were generally nothing more than the song title repeated over and over.
Do you think Katy is a better writer?

When she's not putting out generic pop crap, she's a brilliant writer.
Edit: Also, it's ******** to say Gaga's writing has gone downhill since RedOne. Her songs with RedOne are some of her least impressive songs to date.

I think she is. Gaga's lyrics on ARTPOP are not even decent, some of them are good, but the rest is  . Katy isn't a GREAT writer, but at least people can relate to her lyrics and not just her fans.

Nah. Gaga's weak point is her songwriting, but Katy isn't really a spectacular songwriter either.

Nowadays, yes. They both have their cringeworthy moments on their most recent albums, however.

Both aren't that impressive, but Gaga is easily one of the worst songwriters of all time. Lyrics in 95% of her discography

Katy's lyrics are so generic and predictable. I don't understand most of Gaga's lyrics post-TFM. So neither is good songwriters.
