It's like all the things that I felt were wrong with Janet Jackson disappeared with this tour--namely, her voice. Janet's voice is, more or less, EXACTLY the same as it was pre-Damita Jo. I am blown away. Every song she did last night--from "Again" to "Miss You Much"--was pure, '80s/'90s Janet. The weak-azz '00s voice has disappeared. I hope this trend continues into her new album.

The most striking difference would be to compare her 2006 Billboard Awards performance of "Let's Wait Awhile" to the one she did last night. "Let's Wait Awhile" is not included in this vid but there's a separate one, with about 20 seconds of the song, and it really does sound like '90s Janet, as opposed to the one who couldn't sing it two years ago.

This I completely agree with. I understand what you mean--I formed an "emotional" connection with Janet and I can't really get that with any other artist. You have the same thing with Madonna. They are very similar and legendary.
