R&B has experienced quite the rollercoaster of criticism this past year. However, these fellas looked to show the genre is far from dying. Check out the nominees for Best Male R&B Song:

Ne-Yo, “When You’re Mad”
Anthony Hamilton, “Can’t Let Go”
Chris Brown, “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”
Prince, “Black Sweat”

And taking home this award is...well then, I wasn't expecting that...
Ne-Yo, "When You're Mad"!!!
This is the first year for Ne-Yo being nominated and his first win.

Back in the day, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte...they were pionneer female MCs. These days though, the ladies are stepping their game up. Below are five of the hardest hitters of the past year, including two jailbirds, two possible lesbians, and a brit. And we all know how tough they are across the pond. The nominees for Best Female Rap/Hip-Hop Song are...
Best Female Rap/Hip-Hop Song
Lil’ Kim, “Whoa”
Khia, “Snatch The Cat Back”
Remy Ma, “Conceited”
Missy Elliot, “We Run This”
Lady Sovereign, “Love Me or Hate Me”
And the female MC of the year would be.....
Missy Elliot, "We Run This"!!!
Missy is also nominated for "We Run This" in the Best Song from a Movie category.

Yaaaay for PCD, I'm loving the winners, I just didn't liked the Best Hard Rock Song winner, I wanted Avenged Sevenfold to win this one.
