Phillip Phillips - 'The World from the Side of the Moon'
'American Idol' Winner Phillip Phillips Sets Album Release Date; Unveils Title. Interscope going all out for a big debut.
The World From The Side of The Moon Out November 19, 2012
The season 11 champ's debut will come out just before the Thanksgiving holiday, according to Amazon.
American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips' debut album is set for a Nov. 19 release, according to online retailer Amazon.
The listing states that Phillips' full-length will be titled The World From The Side of The Moon. It is available for pre-orders on the website for $16. (Worth noting: another Idol winner is set to release an album on Nov. 19: Kelly Clarkson, whose Greatest Hits - Chapter 1 includes three new tracks.)
Phillips has been chronicling the recording of the album on Twitter, recently revealing that he had four more songs to finish and that his record will be available "by the end of November, likely."
An insider who's heard some of the songs told The Hollywood Reporter's Idol Worship that "the material is great" and that Phillips' label, Interscope, is hoping for a big debut.
Although Phillips has performed the original composition, "Take Me Away," at radio performances and has referenced a song called "Drive Me" in interviews, it is unclear which tracks made the final cut, although the radio hit "Home" is sure be included. Phillips has described his sound as "jazz and rock" and "alternative."
The 22-year-old Leesburg, Georgia native has been busy since wrapping up the season 11American Idol Live! tour last month. In between promo appearances and recording studio sessions, Phillips performed solo for the Dalai Lama last week.
