Has Lady GaGa surpassed the current stars of today?
This is a serious question.
I do not remember the last time a female or any artist rose to fame and had an impact on pop culture in such a short period of time. I guess the last artist to possibly do it was maybe Britney, but that's highly debatable.
Now, you have schools offering courses dedicated to GaGa (like seriously? Use your money for something much more useful...)
So is it true? Has GaGa surpassed most, if not all, the pop stars of today?
Yes she has IMO... and im not sayin that jus because i stan for her..
she a step ahead of ever one in the game right now,
the other girls need to take notes if they want to compete against the Queen of the digital/intenet age.........
She's on top of the world now...
-selling loads of albums
-200 mil $ grossing tour
-sucessful singles (7/7 top 10 on hot 100 , 6/7 #1s on pop)
-#7 on Forbes higher than any other singer
-winning loads of awards...
She is the perfect mesh of an old school rock star and a modern day popstar.
It hasn't been done before and it's causing a huge impact. She is cool enough to be loved by those who seek to avoid commercialism and pop enough to be gulped up by the mainstream media. Expect to see many attempts at imitations but the first is never really topped.
She is well on her way to being a fully fledged legend and already at icon status whatever her critics want to say, she is recognised the world over and hasn't been around for long at all. Of course all other pressed stans are going to say it is delusion but her impact can't really be denied, that in itself would be delusional.
I have no doubt in my mind that 30 years down the line people will be listening to Bad Romance, Poker Face and whatever other hits she will throw our way in much the same way as we listen to Vogue, Livin' on a Prayer and Billie Jean. She is not the 'next' anyone, she is Lady Gaga and she is here to stay.
