I'm a "SJW" and I agree with this no offense if there are otherkin folks lurking around but I find it so strange and it leads to the most awkward conversations. I also had to shut down some messy otherkins for saying their experience was basically the same as mine (trans). No thanks.

i feel like and i am not trying to mean here i am really not, but i feel like otherkin make the trans community look bad, like it takes away from how serious trans issues are

True, but there's no denying that transphobia is widely accepted and perpetuated by most cis folks in our society. Now saying most cis people are transphobic would be accurate, not all.
