Thinking of You would not have gotten nominated - it wasn't a hit. Katy's label knew what they were doing, as something like Kelly's Already Gone (a ballad that went top twenty, unlike ToY) could not make it that year.
Plus, Hot n Cold totally came in fifth that year anyway.
