SIR Elton John has reignited his long-standing feud with Madonna by branding her a “f****** fairground stripper” whose “career is over”.
The sharp-tongued Rocket Man blasted his chart foe on Australian TV and is furious that she keeps laying into his pal Lady Gaga – who is godmother to his son Zachary.
Madonna has repeatedly taken swipes at her young pop rival over her hit Born This Way, which has often been compared to the singer’s 1989 single Express Yourself.
She recently said: "I thought, ‘What a wonderful way to redo my song.’ I mean, I recognised the chord changes. I thought it was... interesting.”
But Elton is adamant the star no longer has any authority to criticise others because she’s lost credibility as an artist.
He ranted: “Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c***.”
The incensed rocker continued: “If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray Of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly.
“But no, she had to go and prove... she looks like a f****** fairground stripper. She's been horrible to Gaga.”
Elton and Madonna have been at each other’s throats for years.
His partner David Furnish waded into the rift in January when he slammed Madonna for beating Elton to scoop the Best Original Song award at the Golden Globes.
Her tune Masterpiece, from her directorial debut flick W.E., was the surprise choice over Elton’s duet with Lady Gaga, Hello Hello, from the Furnish-produced animation Gnomeo & Juliet.
David immediately took to Twitter to vent his fury, writing: “Madonna. Best song???? F*** off!!!”
He later wrote: “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit.
“Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”
Elton had earlier taken a pop at Madonna on the red carpet before the ceremony, saying: “Mary J Blige might win it for The Help. Madonna doesn't have a f****** chance.”
