I'm gonna say Britney since that's how everyone treats every single music era of hers. Example, "The troubled pop princess is back again with her new album Cheeto Starbucks".

lmao, so right. I still don't consider the Circus era a comeback.
Yeah I guess in a way. Although "We Belong Together" is really when the era took off and people were saying Mariah was back. It's Like That definately wasn't a flop though.
Um....lets be completely honest. Britney was still popular during her breakdown. She never "came back" to popularity, just got herself together and that in a way was a comeback. But the biggest MUSIC comeback - someone who was a famous singer, went downhill and regained popularity, I would have to say would be JLo.
I dont think ANYONE expected the success of On the Floor. Some may argue she's still a flop, but On the Floor was her first charted single since 2005?, and its the biggest hit of the year after Rolling in the Deep and all 3 of her singles have charted since. Her album has sold like 270k? in the US and 1 mill worldwide and it could easily go Gold if Papi smashes.
Also, it was even more impressive because she was 41 and usually the older you get, the harder it is for you to stay popular in Pop music!
