Is 'Telephone' the most massive video release ever?
The anticipation.
The shock value.
The media coverage.
It was EVERYWHERE. I remember people skipping school so they can catch the premiere.
Can you think of another video that was as anticipated as Telephone (in the digital era)?

There were no social media when Thriller got released, I bet most people randomly came across it the first time while switching of channels...
To answer the OP, yes, by far.

I've never seen so much anticipation for a music video so I will say yes.
Though the video itself is not massive but the hype for the release was. I remember YouTube having a countdown on it's front page for the video.

Please, take me back in time when it was released and tell me everyone's reactions, and their anticipation. I'll wait.
Besides, you didn't even read the OP. you just stated an iconic video

Anyways, from the past decade or two, definitely. There are probably one or two MJ and Madonna videos that beat her otherwise.

I was born 10 years after its release, it has nothing to do with "where I live"
