So I was thinking, if youre going to do a countdown of the years best, only to put your fave at number 1.. whats the point?
So I thought it would be pretty cool to do one of these excluding my fave.

I think you make a good point, some countdowns can be quite predictable if you know who the OP's faves are! That's why I'm limiting my Top 50 Singles to only one single per artist.
That's an interesting tactic to exclude your fave. I don't know you very well but you have a great taste based on your sig so I'll be excited to see this.
