i've never understood why there's always such a mess surrounding anyone who gets plastic surgery so im curious to here from people who are against it think.
is it bc it looks fake? bc you think it's unnatural? if it doesn't look 'plastic' and looks completely natural would you still be so against it?
personally i think if you're unhappy with the way you look then you have every right to change it but i can understand why some ppl are disgusted at really awful looking cases

I wouldn't date someone who partakes in it. False advertising. Either you're born good looking or you work out for the body you want. Faking it - isn't commendable or courageous. I would only be OK with it for medical reasons or for getting rid of unsightly miles and blemishes, extra limbs.
Because 9 times out of 10 it's laughably bad or much too obvious. There's such a thing as flawless, subtle plastic surgery, but it doesn't make for good tabloid fodder. The type of work we talk about and make fun of is actually a mockery of disciplined doctors and surgery.

Because people are hypocrites, rude and idiotic. Simple as that.
I mean look at society, constantly making fun of people (especially women) for not looking a certain way, and then the moment that person changes him or herself to look LIKE THAT, to look like what society wants, they keep on judging him or her.
I disagree with plastic surgery when it becomes an addiction or if a particular surgery is ilegal (for exemple, there are surgeries that are banned in Europe and NA, but not in Cuba - and doing that surgery can be really hurtful and bad for a person). But if its a legal procedure to make people feel good about themselfs, i don't see why not.

OT: Because people root for natural beauty in general. I have nothing against it but I do believe you should let your body finish developing until you add, change or remove things to it.

Its funny ~certain~ people here (on ATRL, not exactly this thread) saying its shallow and stupid, but they dont mind going to SYG to call Kesha a "fridge" or to say Britney "looks like a meth addict".
To criticise someone for their looks only is shallow. Undergoing plastic surgery, on the other hand, isnt.
Honestly, many people choose partners based on having 'good' genes so they can pass them on to their children, and plastic surgery hides 'flawed' genes

It's not your place to define someone's decision, especially with such a lackadaisical term like superficial/shallow. Wanting plastic surgery to look more attractive is no more superficial than wanting a job because it has good pay. People really need to get over having this grandiose reasoning behind their actions and just do what pleases them.
