Britney's latest effort "Britney Jean" has underperformed on the charts, could possibly be as a result of mal-promoting, but still it's not a good sign. As of now, she has her successful Vegas show to focus on, but after that the future of her career is unclear, but all signs are leading to that she is retiring after she's done with the show. What's your thoughts about this?
It seems to be happening. But I don't want to believe it. In 10 years time we cannot look back and say Britney's last big hit of her career was 'Scream and Shout'
Yeah, no shade but her career is over. She had an AMAZING one but her time's gone. The hype for her was gone. Shesimply wouldn't be able to pull a "BEYONCE" e.g, just using it as an example. She should be celebrated as one of the biggest icons of this millennium, and was an amazing pop star. It's unfortunate but it would happen one day.
It's not so much that she's "over", it's that she is (very clearly) "over it".
She hasn't given a **** these last few years, but only now has that affected her music. And so if she wants to go, I'd rather she do it now than continue to tarnish her legacy with **** albums & barely lukewarm effort.
You're missing the point. I'm not claiming that she can't fit in the current trends, but it appears like she doesn't even want to.
My answer is concerning the previous posts sis. However, Britney doesn't want to belong in this industry for a long time now. Lets recall Britney: For The Record
I hate how they're taking advantage of her and milking her dry. She's in her thirties, she has two adorable boys to raise and it's obvious she doesn't want to do this, hence the lack of promotion. They should let her retire so she can live the rest of her life in peace.
I have a soft spot for Britney and I always cringe when people drag her. She isn't doing as well as she used to but that's okay, it happens to -or will happen to- every artist.
For her sake, I hope so. Thanks to Will.I.Am, the output is finally reflecting the effort and no stable of writers or producers can put the pieces back together.

You sound bothered. I thought this thread was about Britney.
She is an iconic. A legend. She has nothing to proove at this point of her amazing career. She had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I just want her to be happy and if she decides to stop making music, that's fine too.
If she wants to take a break after Vegas I don't blame her, she deserves to extend her family and spend quality time with the ones she loves. But that doesn't mean she's away for good! Retirement at a young age is just no, she has so many opportunities in front of her, but nonetheless I'll support her.
