What's the hardest thing about being gay in your personal opinion? (obviously a thread for the gays)

For me, it is the stereotypes and stigmas that are in the gay world. I am 21, a top, and masculine yet overly sensitive, romantic, and respectful. I get ridiculous things like "how are you a top and sensitive!?" Or "romantic? Nobody got time fo daT!" It's like everybody just wants to penetrate and be penetrated, soulless and sh*t, ya know?

I think the hardest thing for me is being bi and getting constant back lash from the LGBT community. People here don't believe bisexuality exists. Others believe its a front because I'm still "in the closet".

@OP I'm the same, it does exist, but you are right, a lot of the gays are just here for physical contact for a night, nothing more

in my country gays are seen automatically as:
1. effeminate, like they are so foreign to the idea of a masculine gay, and if you are, they'll just mock you because you are not effeminate
2. source of fun. it could be good actually, since the lgbt community here are seen as happy people, or could easily make fun out of nothing. Like if you are gay you are expected to be a radiant jolly person

Well I would say coming out to the people that mean the most to you and that will eventually be shocked and not happy with who you are. Me, for example, I don't think I'd have the gut to tell my grandparents about it, I think they would be so disappointed, principally my grandfather. As for the rest, well it's easier, eventhough I don't really adore the gay community either.

The fact that there even is a discussion about it, or that people still 'come out'.

I believe that no-one should have to have a label, and should be free to love who they want, without having to worry about stigmas and stereotypes.

Well,the hardest thing for me is finding a relationship.All guys here want is to sleep around.Any guy who I actually liked this past year always said,"Sorry,I'm not looking for anything!" and I get that same damn excuse every time!!I'm sick of putting myself out there to have it thrown back in my face........

A black person would understand what a gay person goes through. Cause blacks aren't really accepted just like a gay person ain't. We can't do this cause we this, we that. Blacks/gays gotta worry about how people are gonna feel when there somewhere. It's facts.

This tbh. No tea and no shade, but from what I know, most white gays don't use blacks in terms of intimacy, although we are socially accepted by whites, we will never fully be regarded as human beings because we are sexually unattractive.
