Hello. I'm giving this section my first try this year, never did it before. I will list my top 100 songs from 2013. My taste is a bit "ahead of its time" so it was kinda hard for me to compile the chart.
I will include only music released in 2013. Songs released in 2012 which became singles in 2013 were NOT eligible in my chart.
I came across this song just a few days ago. While it is nothing special and another auto-tuned T-Pain track & also a flop, it still made this countdown & is his only entry here. The beat of the song makes me wanna stand up and shake my ass a bit.
Kelly Clarkson - Underneath the Tree
Kelly Clarkson is probably in my top 5 of my most favorite artists ever. She decided to release a Christmas album this year and is getting much success with it (she just blocked Britney ) However, this song is not really a sweet tea for me. Probably because I don't really use Xmas music. The song's just meh & I included it only so Kelly wouldn't get snubbed This is also her only entry in the countdown.
Snoop Lion - No Guns Allowed (ft. Drake & Cori B.)
It's a cute bop even though it flopped kinda badly. I haven't listened to this song that much but I like the message of the song and the music video - that's why it made the countdown. Drake's feature is OK. I have an urge to light up a joint while listening to this song Snoop has one more entry in my countdown.
Kanye West - Blood on the Leaves
I always loved auto-tuned 808s Kanye. That album is flawless & this song reminds me of it a lot. He sounds so angry on this artistic piece! It has GREAT production, one of the best instrumentals of this year. I also applaud the lyrics. U ask why it is only at number 97 then? Because of that annoying Nina Simone sample. I hate the sample. It literally makes me wanna hit the stop button & I did not listen to this song much because of it Anyone can send me a sample-less version? Anyway Kanye has one more Yeezus song in my countdown
Ellie Goulding - Burn
What to say about this song? It didn't really slay me. And I LOVE Ellie A LOT!!! Lights and Halcyon brought so many ARTISTIC bops. Her tone & style is incredible. This song is a bit too generic for my taste. I dislike the auto-tune elements in it. It's still a catchy nice bop and a big hit. It is also about to become a really big in the US next year. The pre-chorus is the tea of this song. I listened to Ellie A LOT this year but only her old material, so sadly this song is the only one that made the countdown.
Lil Wayne - Love Me (ft. Drake & Future)
I don't really like Lil Wayne's music, but this song was my bop early 2013. Mike Will Made It beat & Drake is a winning combination. I applaud the great chorus. I also like Future's pre-chorus & Lil Wayne did not over-do it like he usually does. The song's biggest problem is that it starts to get annoying after a few plays. That's why I didn't listen to it throughout 2013 THAT much and gets only 95th place which is Lil Wayne's only entry in the chart.
