EXTREMELY overrated. She had a HUGE image, but it wasn't because she was 'like, so amazing' she never had any respect or artistic credibility, which is a pretty big flaw IMO, She's pretty much a joke artistically.
I would say no, but I don't know. I remember watching her everyday on MTV and Britney being the first album I bought with my own money, but I don't know if it's maybe because I was a teenager at that time.
