I don't mind listening/relistening to music as much as I used to get so hung up on scores. Like, I would love a song and give it a 10 but then I would hear another song that was just on another level of greatness that I was sure was a 10 so I would feel conflicted with my lists when one album ranked higher than an album that I was sure was a bit better because of the songs that were positively 10s.
So now, since like a month ago, I've set a stricter standard much like most music critics. Now giving a song a 9 doesn't feel as bad as it used to. But now the 10s are fewer.
I could have done my decade list if I was comfortable with the rankings but I wasn't so now I'll probably wait until mid-next year to do a decade list. I don't have time to go back and re-rank everything I've listened to since 2010, ya know?
