It seems Collider's Steve Weintraub was spot on when he reported that Marvel and Sony were close to settling on a new Spider-Man to replace Andrew Garfield in the MCU, and The Wrap has now revealed the names on the shortlist. According to them, Nat Wolff (The Fault In Our Stars), Asa Butterfield (Hugo, Ender's Game), Tom Holland (The Impossible), Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar) and Liam James (The Way Way Back) are all in the running to land the coveted role.
The site adds that none of these young actors have actually tested yet, but that they are "strong contenders who are definitely in the mix as of right now". It has also been confirmed that the plan is to introduce Spidey in Captain America: Civil War, and the role will have to be cast by June when the actor will be needed on set.
Anyone but Asa Butterfield Sorry but I could not stand him in Hugo. He gives me Freddie Highmore teas, he's got that ~wonder~ expression and I cannot see him pulling off Peter Parker.
These are all second and third rate versions of Logan, Dylan and Ansel. A mess.
I hope the guy in the top left gets it since as he's the only one that's not strange looking
Nat and Liam are the ebst actors from the list (that I've seen) and Tim just looks the part so any of them could get the part. although I'd prefer Logan Lerman or Dylan O'brien
