Initial impression of Ke$ha when you first heard 'TiK ToK'?
So in September 2009, I first heard 'TiK ToK' on the radio.
I was like, who is this girl? Is this Uffie? Then I looked up the song and saw it was by Ke$ha.
I recognized her name from 'Right Round', the Flo Rida song, so I looked into it further.
So basically, I went on her website and it was offered as a free download after signing up your email, so I got the song, *****d it out and showed all my friends and we all were hooked. I literally thought this girl was going to be the next biggest thing in pop. It was that same feeling I got after first hearing 'Just Dance' in June 2008. I was like, "This girl will be huge" and look at Gaga now!
I want to know, what were your thoughts on Ke$ha when she debuted with this song? I thought she was so cool! The whole trash-pop thing was fresh. It was exciting, and I couldn't wait for the song to finally blow up! A few months later, it finally did. It became the ultimate party-jam. I found Ke$ha so interesting then. So, what do you think?
I was disappointed. I came across the original version of "Backstabber" and "This Love" on her Myspace in March of '09 and thought she was incredible and couldn't wait for her debut. I heard "Tik Tok" in August and was completely deflated. I still to this day don't hear anything especially catchy about it.
I remember when TiK ToK first came out on the radio. I lived in Cabo at the time, I was the only one who knew the song in my school and I remember a lot of people didn't like it. About a month later, everyone loved the song, it was literally played at every single party
But, she slowly get me. I love her songs, so good to dance to. I just don't like her trash-look style. I rather her to be more like the style in tik tok video ..
I remember when it leaked as Dolla or something and I thought she was gonna be huge, but now I think she's gonna fade away cuz shes only popular for that one song (bc of DrLuke) unless if she recreates magic like that again which I highly doubt.
