For Those who are against Tidal, and judging from the #TidalForALL thread there are a bunch of you, can you explain to me how Tidal affects your music listening experience?

Like no where does it say that these artist are leaving Spotify and removing their catalogs from them. No where does it state that Tidal will host exclusives like your fav's newest album and will be launched SOLELY on Tidal.

Currently, we have NOTHING except two prices: $20 and $10. The latter costing the same as Spotify premium.

People bring up the fact that Spotify Student offers a discount at $5 for students? But

1. Not ALL Spotify users are students
2. Spotify Student users only represent 15% of Spotify Subscribers
3. You only get FOUR years of Spotify Student usage then its back to $10

My question to you is simply, how does Tidal affect you? Why are you so up in arms about a service that you literally DON'T have to support and still can enjoy listening to your fav's music. And why doe those who care to support this have to be "mindless stans" does that make you then a "mindless hater"

There are free ways to get music and there are better things you can buy with $240/$120.

I can name 10 corporations that MILLIONS of people use everyday who 99% are ripping you off or taking you for a fool yet I'm pretty sure you still support them by purchasing their services and products. So again, how does Tidal affect you? You don't HAVE to use Tidal so how exactly are they ripping you off when you can literally turn the other cheek and not support because it DOESN'T affect your listening experience.

Uh, because it is trying to reverse the industry back to a "pay to listen" type model, and I support music being free for everyone.

Because they are targeting the consumers instead of coming for their labels.

So if you can go somewhere else for streaming why does what Tidal does affect you? If you aren't a user of their service how does their business practices affect you?

I'm just worried that artists may start taking their music down of Spotify (which I pay £9.99 for a month and only just gotten used to streaming). Until I know that this won't happen, then I won't be anti tidal.

I'm not antitidal as long as these artists don't remove their discographies from Spotify, which is what i use to stream music.

If they do i'm anti, it will only cause fragmentation among streaming, and that could be the end of the streaming era, and then we're back at zero and illegal downloading......

So where's the funny? Because it doesn't answer the question.

Right, I'm not speaking DIRECTLY to you more so to the people who have the same response as you but are completely Anti Tidal. Like how can u be against something and bash it when it doesn't affect you.

Because streaming in general is killing the industry.

It kind of annoys me that they are all just jumping on the streaming bandwagon and relying on their celebrity brand power to promote it, when Spotify really broke down the gate for streaming years ago by being innovate and having foresight. It seems kind of vacuous. The same thing bothers me about Beats streaming. It's a free market though so it is what it is.
