Im not sure if this has been done before but i want to discuss it because its been on my mind the past few days. What are peoples opinions on the modern use of the "N" word and what it represents because for anyone who knows history or has common sense they would know that it is a racist term used for black people during the days of slavery however nowadays the word is used very loosely, in conversation with friends among the black community and to this day i can't understand why. Why would anyone use such a word that has such a bad reputation and such derogatory connotations behind it in general conversation. Isn't it kinda of mocking what black people went through all those years ago?? Or do you think that its not that serious?
Could it also be said that the music industry has a part to blame e.g. Rap/Hip-Hop when rappers are constantly using it to uphold the "thug image". I will admit ive used it with friends before and i know im wrong for doing it but is the use of this word blinding the rest of the worlds knowledge of the word outside the black community.
A perfect example of this would be that article that called Rihanna a "N***a Bitch" and when Rihanna responded, they replied saying they didn't know it was racist because so many people use the word freely.

Do you think this is a serious issue or is it no more than harmless interaction
