Nokia taunts Samsung ahead of Sept. event

Nokia sales and marketing VP Chris Weber didn't mince any words in a tweet aimed at Samsung. "Samsung take note, next generation Lumia coming soon," he wrote. #nokia

The taunt was published several hours after Nokia and Microsoft sent invitations to reporters for an event scheduled to take place in New York City on September 5. Nokia and Microsoft appear primed to show off the next wave of Windows Phone hardware and software at the event, which promises to kick the smartphone wars into high gear for the fall season.
Weber's tweet had a nice pun, using the word "note" on the same day that Samsung announced the U.S. launch of the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. Perhaps more relevant, however, is that the tweet also references the Galaxy Note smartphone, which Samsung also bragged about on Wednesday.

!! And Nokia really isn't in the place right now to be trash talking Samsung. They are on a "burning platform" according to their own CEO, Stephen Elop, and much hasn't changed since that letter.

I'm excited. I can't wait for Microsoft to dominate once again. The Windows Phone 8 Operating System is one unique and spectacular view. The reviews have been great (well in Mobile Phones). I cannot wait for the event! I really am eyeing for a phone right now. I will not be biased, I'll be watching both Microsoft and Apple's September Presentations. So far the leaked iPhone is horrible. Microsoft tho wont give us a hint.

So Apple invented OS Promotion now? How the hell would they promote it? They are promoting the Operating System. You can keep trying Haus but Microsoft is coming.

I really do not care about both events but I'm looking for a phone right now and it's best for me to check both out. I really want the new Windows Phone but I want to see what's in store with the new iPhone. But if Apple decides to give the iPhone the boost to 128 GB of Storage then it's a deal.

WP hasn't been able to connect with a lot of people. The reaction is really polarized. My friends IRL don't really seem to like the UI (even though I love it) and techies on twitter think the UI is pretty. This is why I don't really see it taking off so soon because it's different from the app layout that people are used to from Apple/Android.

Probably. I go to forums like Macrumors and go to reviews and most of them loves the UI. Yes, a lot of Macrumors members loves it as well. The think I really loved about the UI is how fresh it is. It's a break free from the boring icons of iOS and Android.

There's not many apps for the OS now so people aren't really interested in picking one up and a lot of Apple users like WP. More so than android users lmao.

I thought a lot are developing apps for the WP? It's new, it's not a surprise and the marketplace is growing really fast. I think a lot are developing apps for the Windows Phone. Microsoft wont let this die. It's one of their very few hopes to stay relevant and in the know on the fast growing Tech world
