Both artists show that they dont need to be sexy to be in music industry
Both are very talented too. They have very great voice, they can play instruments, and write their own music
But Alessia is going to have her second Top 10 hit soon
Not to mention How Far I'll Go gives such a good boost to her career
However, we all know how Tori's commercial success doesnt show any good sign so far, even after so many promo
How could it be when they have almost similar image in public?
Alessia has a very unique voice and an anti-popstar image. Her songs are also really nice whereas Tori is kind of bland and has nothing distinctive or unique about her music or her voice. Both are talented but Tori just doesn't have what it takes to make it in the music industry.
Alessia's voice is more instantly recognizable, and she didn't over-promote.

Her image and music are very distinctive, and her voice much more unique. She has better material and is way more interesting.
Everything about Tori Kelly screams bland: her music, looks, and even her voice, even though she's got a really good one. She just doesn't stand out.
I am not even a big Alessia fan, but she has her own sound and comes across as genuine.
Tori comes across as bland, She has an amazing voice, but that only can take you that far. I always felt the same about Lea Michelle aswell. Both ladies have amazing voices, could sing circles around most of their peers, but something is really off that doesn't connect with me.
As talented as Tori is, her music doesn't stick. Alessia's music is more distinctive. I'm rooting for Alessia to have a successful career. I like her music
