Was that era necessary in any way?
I dont know why its so overblown here on ATRL. Is wasn't particularly creative or innovative as people claim, it was basically a stint for publicity/attention. Her posing naked, and releasing the sex book didnt break any new ground for female artists, seeing as over 20 years later noone dares to do such things, in a sense it was a step backwards, right
. The era its self was Madonna trying to basically just SHOCK. she wanted a reaction from the GP and what better way to do it than to oversexualize youreself. The era basically comes down to Madonna wanting to SHOCK!!
Im not taking away from the grounbreaking/innovative trendsetter Madonna was in her day. However being "****ographic" is not setting a trend, or being creative/innovative (and please save the "its art" argument, not when you were thesame people dragging Gaga for "glamourizing" eating disorders
) its being innapropriate and purposefully contreversial for, attention, yes I said it ATTENTION.
You know like what Miley was doing a couple months back, but she wasnt being an "innovator" was she? Didnt here that.
Please discuss without losing your minds, thanks
