‘Katy Perry Rocks for Relief’ at Mall of Asia Concert Grounds
Music Management International (MMI) and All Youth Channels, Inc. (AYC) proudly present “Katy Perry Rocks for Relief” as her swagger warms Manila after the cold typhoons devastated the country three weeks ago. She will be heading the biggest fundraising event for the typhoon survivors making the concert much bigger and more relevant. The fundraiser will be on Nov. 14 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. All net proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Philippine National Red Cross, the concert’s sole beneficiary. The concert will also be an avenue for people to drop off their donations as it will have house booths specifically intended for it.
Boys Like Girls, the supposed front act for “Katy Perry Live in Manila” last Oct. 3 will not be able to make it. Guest performers are Arnel Pineda and Neal Schon of Journey, American rock band MAE, and Jed Madela.

Katy Perry joins Sagip Kapamilya’s relief operations
Best known for her hit song “I Kissed A Girl,” Katy Perry arrived in Manila on November 12 for her much-awaited concert on November 14 at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds. The concert was originally scheduled for October 14, but was postponed due to the devastation brought about by Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
Aside from donating part of the proceeds of her concert to Sagip Kapamilya, the American pop star also helped out by joining ABS-CBN’s relief operations on November 12 at Brgy. Boso-Boso, Rizal which was one of the hardest hit areas during Typhoon Ondoy. Wearing a simple black shirt and jeans, Katy helped distribute goods to more than two thousand families.
Katy was also accompanied by international singer Arnel Pineda, Journey’s lead guitarist Neal Schon, and the American rock band Boys Like Girls who were all happy to bring a ray of hope to the residents of Brgy. Boso-Boso. “It pulls your heart out of you. So I’m just happy to be here to help any way I can and give something to the people,” Neal said. To which Arnel added, “Sana lang mabiyayaan pa kami ng pagkakataon na marami pa kaming matulungan na kababayan natin.”
Be sure to catch all of these stars plus Jed Madela in Katy Perry Rocks for Relief this Saturday at 8 pm.
