Homosexuality/Bisexuality being taught in schools.
Before any of you rip my head off, please understand what I'm implying. I'm not asking whether or not students should be taught how to become gay or bi-sexual, I'm simply asking whether or not students (of the High School age) should be taught about the many different realms of sexuality.
In school we're taught about heterosexual sex and nothing more. But what about homosexuality, bi-sexuality, asexuality, pan-sexuality, intersexuality etc; What's wrong with teaching children about the very complex world of sexuality beyond the usual lessons about "the birds and the bees"? Why not equip students with the knowledge of different sexual orientations?
I think the more aware the general public becomes of all these sexual orientations, The more comfertable people will be with a population of Gays/Bis/Straight etc. I personally think its a great idea to teach students about all sexualities!
They learn what the terms mean thanks to playground chatter and, more recently, the intrawebs.
And I wouldn't say "heterosexuality" is taught in schools. The reproductive system is taught in schools. It just so happens the reproductive system only works with a man and a woman.
The thing I see being a problem with this, especially in the US is how based on religion our society is. Super religious groups would not stand for it and it would cause a serious uproar.
I'm a huge supporter of different forms of sexual orientations being taught in school. For gay and bisexual people to be accepted, we need to start educating students about it in a logical way. If we could make them understand that it's nothing unnatural, I think it'd go a long way to stop bullying.
I don't think there's going to be much of a debate here, though.
Hetero sex is only taught because of the reproductive aspect. There is no reason to teach children about the other sides. Leave the complex sex stuff out of school. Keep with the basics: Safe sex and sex = reproduction.

Which is why religion has no place in public school. Education should not be censored.

Religious groups have no impact on public schools.

Well I think we should start teaching students about sexual orientations other than what's reproductive.
Preferably, students of the Middle School/High School age.

But that's OK, it's pure Biology.
I think we're talking about Health classes, or even History, Geography, Sociology, Philosophy...
