So basically, you can't go to church if you have a wonky ****, you are going to hell for re-marrying, looking at someone of sexual desire to you means hell, you have to eat your children if you disobey God and last but not least...

IT IS AGAINST GOD AND THE BIBLE TO DISRUPT THE LIVES OF OTHERS AND CAUSING BURDEN ON THY NEIGHBOUR.

So why should people like this be allowed to say gay marriage is wrong.. yet disobey the bible directly?

People need to understand that this was written in another time. We live in a completely new world compared to how it was at that time, thus a lot of those perspectives and doctrines have been modified or even completely ruled out due to the way we live today.

This. And I extend this to all religious books. For every 'bad', outdated passage there is a good one that people should apply to their lives whether they believe or not tbh.

But...what if people had followed the book word for word? Do you think the times would have changed?

How many years have you dedicated to studying the Bible; to learn the ancient languages it was written in, to learn the historical context within it; to learn the different genres used, so on and so on? Because I find it silly that people think this is a book like any other book. It isn't.

All religion scriptures are similar. They have some good things and bad things. It's pretty unfair to single out bible, imo. If you want to underline the flaws of religion, let us discuss each religion one by one, in a non-offensive manner

Just for clarification:

I'm in no way, shape or form claiming to be an expert on the bible and topics alike. I'm simply quoting passages and pointing out parts that are seen as silly in modern society as well as posing the question as to why extremist groups think its okay to protest about gay going to hell etc when it is directly in violation of their preaching to disturb the peace of others.
