How come NOBODY talks about the PURE TERRORISM that is happening NOW in GAZA (Palestine) by the hands of the United States and Israel?

You should really watch your words ... not all of the U.S. citizens are apart of that horrible action. I'm pretty sure that only the army and George Bush and others are apart of it. I have nothing to do with that and neither do most Americans. I didn't even know about that until now. Today when I was in Chicago there where a bunch of protesters with signs that said FREE PALENSTINE.

Don't put words into my mouth. I never said that all Muslims are terrorists. Some are and let's not forget that some Americans were terrorists as well, a classic example would be the Uni-bomber in, I think, 1995. He killed many.

I don't like war, never have and never will. I did have some family members fight in wars and I'm proud to be able to have my freedom. I think that there are better ways to solve issues than wars, but of course with a Bush in office, it seems no other answer is possible. Thank God we have Obama (wishing it were Hillary though) is gong to be our new president in a matter of weeks.

And lets not forget that Russia did some nasty things to Georgia over the summer. And don't act like the Middle East has been an angel through all of this.

I wasn't using the generalization term on Pinter for a joke, there was a reason. Not all Americans are bad and not all Americans have a taken apart of wars.

Sorry that I'm not a news junkie and haven't watched the news in a few days. And didn't that story come about yesterday? I mean, seriously if it were a month old, then I would feel bad about not knowing it, but it was like a few hours old. So I don't feel bad for not knowing it. Plus it was on CNN that night, so I did learn a little bit about it.

A week ago*

The conflict started to heat up about a week ago and then a few days after the actual action started to happen. So I'm really not that behind in the news.

Damn... I really don't like Israel. My family is Jewish, if you remember, and my parents are of course for Israel. I just don't get it. I was arguing with them about what's happening in Gaza last week. They have deluded themselves into thinking that the US and Israel have to do this. The truly twisted part is that the Israelis are fighting people who are fighting them for taking over their country in the first place (yes, I know it was UN mandated, but you get the point). My brother (who is 22) was on my side, but he couldn't even convince my dad--we gave him analogies to our country being taken over by the USSR, etc.

It just seems that the Israel vs. Palestine saga is like a big Internet forum--you can twist the facts to fit your argument, even if your argument is so clearly wrong.

1st of all wasn't it the Hamas who started this conflict with their missiles?

2nd last time I checked the US had not interfered with this conflict...so I don't even get why some people are bringing the US into this talk about the current fight in Gaza.

You have a point, but the missiles are not good enough an excuse for such brutal intervention. For every Israeli killed by a missile there is a HUGE number of innocent Palestinian fatalities (many times children playing on the street). But of course, the Western media likes to focus on missiles that kill 2 people instead of bomb raids that kill 500, because hey, Israel has to defend itself. Enough of this.. IMO Israel shouldn't even be existing, it's the product of a Zionist invasion that kicked out 700 000 Palestinians from their righteous land 60 years ago. But I'm digressing.. I know that these Hamas bastards have put their headquarters between civilian houses, so in some way understand Israel's logic, but this logic is not the way to go.

In second place, it's not a question of interfering with the conflict.. the fact is that the majority of the Western world is not taking a proper stance and condemning the brutal acts of violence perpetrated by Israel, while Bush is actually condoning it, thus rightly angering people.
