the long-awaited HD remake of Final Fantasy X will include a copy of sequel Final Fantasy X-2 on the disc on PlayStation 3. On Vita, the two games will be sold separately.
According to a report from Gematsu (via Eurogamer), the news was confirmed in Japanese magazine Shonen Jump, and Final Fantasy X HD is due in 2013. Both X and X-2 will be bundled with content originally included in the international edition of each game.
Final Fantasy X HD was announced at TGS in 2011 but wasn’t seen for over a year. Recently, footage of HD character models was revealed during Sony’s Vita Heaven event.
It's unclear if X-2 will be mastered in HD as well, but we've reached out to Square Enix for comment and will update with any comment we receive
With the official Final Fantasy X HD website now up and running, we were able to find the price of the PS3 version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster through the pre-order link on Amazon.com.
Costing you $39.99, the same as almost every other HD Collection at launch, it’s the exact price of the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix. As we said in our previous post about KH1.5, if you’re worried that this may be a placeholder price and will go up, there’s a pre-order price guarantee on Amazon, meaning that whatever you pay now for a pre-order is what you’ll pay when it comes out, unless it goes cheaper.
As for the PlayStation Vita’s separate versions of the two games, there isn’t a listing on Amazon, which could point towards the fact that they’ll be seeing a digital release, but we’ll have to stay tuned for confirmation from Square Enix.
-Vita release date is same as PS3's. (3/18/14)
-Vita retail version is just FFX with FFx-2 download voucher.
-Both games HAVE to be bought together
-Can be bought on PSN for either system.
-NO cross-buy but does have cross-save http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/...comment-930841

Is there any difference other than the HD between this and the original FFX?

Final Fantasy X: International was released only a couple months after the
NA release. It has the additions of the Dark Aeons, Expert Sphere Grid, and
other things. English Voice Acting, option between
Japanese and English menus and subtitles.

After you start a game playing the International version, you'll be asked three
questions, the problem is that these questions are in Japanese. They are as
follows. This isn't a direct translation, if anyone has a more accurate
translation, contact me and I'll change this.
1) Which Sphere Grid would you like to use?
a) Standard Sphere Grid
b) Expert/International Sphere Grid
2) Are you sure?
a) Yes
b) No
3) Select the primary language for subtitles and menu options
a) Japanese
b) English
Note that you can toggle the language selection on and off at any time during
your game, but once you pick the Sphere Grid, you're stuck with it.
X-2 international is basically like a new game, added dresspheres, mini games, missions and cutscenes .

Oh so that's it. I'm european so my version of the game already had the dark aeons and Penance (I think, I never bothered to try and beat them, so hard).
International is the entire game itself, with some general tweaks to the look, feel, speed, and dialogue; as well as three extra dresspheres, new Garment Grids and the inclusion of a Creature Create system similar to the Monster Arena where fiends can be captured, trained and used in battle. Among these are Strongest Shinra (a demonic-energy infused Shinra) and Major Numerus (the final boss of the Last Mission, a four-headed snake beast that rivals other Final Fantasy bosses for the spot of most difficult).
Many of the Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 non-player characters can also be trained and used in battle, including Tidus, Auron, Seymour, Lulu, Kimahri, Lucil, Nooj, Baralai, and several others. Over 150 additional party members can be gained through this system, with the majority having their own very small storylines and interesting endings (some including familiar faces such as Seymour and Jecht).
Last Mission is a storyline-based mission set three months following the defeat of Vegnagun where Yuna, Rikku, and Paine meet up for the first time since their victory to explore the recently-discovered Yadonoki Tower ruins. The tower has 80 levels with a boss battle on every 20th level. On every 10th level, the girls have a conversation regarding current events in their lives and in Spira, adding many post-game conclusions for NPCs. These conversations can be altered depending on how the player begins the mission.
If one selects New Game at the start screen, one will be prompted to load a save game file from Final Fantasy X-2 normal or International, or to begin without loading. When beginning from scratch, the dialogue will be based on the normal ending of Final Fantasy X-2. However, if one loads a save game file with the happy or perfect endings, Yuna will talk about her new life with Tidus on Besaid Island at 30th level. It is also possible to remove certain pieces of dialogue: i.e., at one point the girls mention Wakka and Lulu's baby Vidina has grown a tooth, but by loading a save game set
@Shinning yeah, i can see why you don't care, America never got this version so it is new for us.

I've always wanted this! I also can't wait to try out the Dark Aeons in FFX and the Physic and Festive Dresspheres in X-2.
This actually sounds fantastic! I'm so glad it's dropping for the PS3 and we'll be getting the X-2 and International bundled together with (what sounds like) plenty of new content! It's nice seeing SE actually delivering with their strongest franchise.
This is actually amazing news. My expectations were getting really low since this was taking so long but I'm happy to know it's because they actually went out of the way to bring all this new content to the US
